Game Analysis
Game Concept:
This is a modern remake of the 1987 Dos shareware game by Alan Farmer. The player plays “Willie” and must use ladders, platforms and jumping to navigate their way to the top of the level where they are to ring the bell. There are many hazards in the players way, such as; Cannon Balls, Tacks and various jumping obstacles. The player is given a time limit to complete each level. Completing a level before time runs out will lead to the remaining time being added to the players score.

Game Goals:
The player's primary goal is to reach and ring the bell at the top of the level their secondary goal is to collect presents which may be scattered about the levels. The player is to ring the bell before the timer runs out.

Game Information:
The game is an arcade style platform game where the player uses the up, down, left, right and space keys to navigate and jump.

License / Brand Analysis:
The game license will be shareware as the original which the game is based on was also shareware.

Target Audience:
The game will be targeted to those people who are board and want something fun to play that wont take a lot of their time up. Teens with cell phones, board internet browsers and anyone who enjoyed the original game and wants to reminisce about the good old days of gaming.

Competitors Analysis:
Currently the competitors for this game are most games for mobile platforms and most internet based flash games.

Game Design
Expanded Game Concept:
In the game the player plays the worm and it is in his best interest to ring the bell before time runs out. If the player rings the bell before time runs out the remaining time will be added to his score, however if they does not succeed in ringing the bell they will die and the level will be restarted. On their way to ringing the bell they will encounter various moving objects such as boulders, cannonballs and stationary hazards such as tacks. There is an up side however as there will be presents for the player to collect which will add to their score, additionally for each moving object the player evades they will gain additional points which will be added to their score. The player will control Willie via the arrow keys to make him move left, right, up and down and the spacebar to make him jump.

Game Structure:
The player will start on the first level and upon ringing the bell at the top they will be transfered through to the start of the second level.

Gameplay:
The game is designed to be a fun arcade “dodgem” game where the player has to avoid obstacles and complete the main objective within the defined time limit. The player uses the navigation keys to move about the levels and the space key to jump over obstacles.

Expanded Gameplay:
The Player will start off on the first level where they will be faced with a simple series of platforms and levels with only a few obstacles between them and the ladder, here they will have a straight forward one direction path for them to take in order to get to the bell.

The second level will have slightly more obstacles for the player to navigate, however on this level the player will be given the choice to take the right side or left side of a symmetrical system of platforms and ladders.
